What sets us apart from other trauma informed/sensitive training?
We recognize the importance of the right supports, in the right amount, at the right time, by the right person. We provide supports that are embedded in natural environments of home, school, and community so that youth may be surrounded by nurturing, consistent, and predictable environments that will allow them to thrive.
Our programs are designed to provide practical and effective tools to adults that spend the most time with the youth. Up to 80% of trauma healing can be facilitated by a trained adult that has a trusting and nurturing relationship with the youth. Research has shown that the primary predictor of a youth’s success is the presence of at least one nurturing and supportive adult in his or her life. Our programs train and support youth, parents, and educators to be the trusted, nurturing, and supportive adults in the lives of youth.
The tools are informed by evidence based treatment programs for trauma and attachment challenges and are not a replacement for mental health treatment, but rather a congruent support framework to facilitate healing.
