Shreya Bhutani '22, a Growth and Structure of Cities major with a minor in educational studies, will be traveling to Taiwan this fall as part of the
"I was particularly interested in Taiwan because of its amazing elementary education program," says Shreya. "I really value the emphasis that this program has on engaging with young learners. Beyond that, the food and culture of Taiwan was really appealing!"
This will be the first time leaving the metro-Philadelphia area for Shreya, who is from Plymouth Meeting, Penn., not far from 惇蹋圖's campus.
As a Fulbright ETA, Shreya says she's "looking forward to building cross-cultural connections and combatting the idea of linguistic supremacy through culturally relevant pedagogies and holistic practices."
In the future, Shreya is interested in getting involved with education law or policy to advocate for better access to fair funding and resources for Title 1 schools or possibly becoming an elementary school teacher.
