Description: Seminar Room 111 will be converted into an accessible graduate student lounge.

Status: This project being bid and construction is expected to begin over spring break. Room 111 is off-line until graduation.

Impacts: There will be some construction activity and intermittent noise.

Description: We continue the phased renovation of Park Science that now includes renovations to the Collier Library and select areas of the Biology  wing.

Status: The areas now under construction, including the Biology wing and the Collier Library, are now isolated. There are three electrical shut-downs scheduled over spring break that have been coordinated with those directly affected. They include a shut-down affection the original Park Science building on Saturday, March 9.  Two additional limited power interruptions affection the Biology Department will occur on Monday and Tuesday, March 10 and 11.  Construction will be completed by fall semester 2025. 

Impact: There will be some intermittent noise. We are working with those affected to manage the impacts.  Any utility interruptions as noted above will be planned and communicated in advance with the affected groups. The Biology east stair well be closed for spring semester.

Description: Facilities will be painting the following areas over spring break:  Select areas in the Chemistry wing (additional painting will be completed at the end of the Park Science Project due to continued construction); patch painting in the Campus Center; and select restrooms in the Campus Center and Park Science addition.

Status: Work is in the planning process for spring break execution.

Impacts:  Hallways will be restricted in the areas of the work and restrooms will be temporarily closed.

Description: Rebuild Rhoads Patio, rebuild the waling path and regrade to make the patio accessible.  Landscaping will also be installed.

Status: This project has been suspended until spring.  We expect to resume the project over spring break, weather permitting.

Impacts: There will be some noise. The most noisy operations will be limited to after 8:00 am

Description: Re-carpet the reception area, Lounge and Classroom III in English House.

Status: Scheduled for spring break.

Impacts: Access these areas will be impacted during the work.

Description: We will be restriping the Gateway Parking Lot.

Status: The work will take place on Thursday March 13, 2025 weather permitting (Rain date– Friday March 14, 2025)

Impacts:  The lot will be closed starting at the end of business day on Wednesday March 12, and will reopen on Friday March 14. 

Description: The paving contractor will be on side to do some work on the installation within the Cloisters.

Status: The work will take place on Monday March 10 and Tuesday March 11, 2025.

Impacts:  Minimal. 

Description:  A Facilities contractor will be doing masonry repairs outside of the windows of room 300 in the Park Science Building.  This  work is to address water infiltration issues within Park 300.

Status:  The work is scheduled for Mach 10– March 14.

Impacts:  A limited number of Parking spaces will be blocked for a lift during the week.  The work will also be loud and create dust outside of the building.

Description: The motor in one Chemistry wing air handling unit in Park Science will be replaced.

Status: The work will occur between Monday March 10 and Friday March 14.

Impacts: The air handling unit will be out of service for the duration of the project effecting the HVAC system in the Chemistry wing. The fume hoods are not impacted.
